Potato balls are a trendy dish liked by most of the kids. This classic dish is prepared by boiling the potatoes, mashed and mixed with chopped green onions, grated carrot, spiced with fresh ground black pepper, mayonnaise and yoghurt; made into small balls and deep fried until crispy and crunchy. For preparing these crispy and crunchy potato balls, firstly wash and boil the potatoes. Once they cool, peel the skin and mash the potatoes adding spices to it. Put a pan or kadai on gas over low heat and add about 2 tsps of cooking oil. When the oil gets hot, add the potato mixture and stir all the ingredients together until you are sure that everything is mixed well together. Then cook for about 5 minutes.
Now take it off the gas and let the potatoes mixture cool down for 5-10 minutes. Then squeeze in the bread and mix it well into the potato mixture. With your hands take some potato mixture and roll it into a ball of the size you desire. Same ways makes the number of balls you get from the potato mixture and keep aside.
Heat some cooking oil in a deep frying pan. When the oil get hot, put in the potato balls and fry until they turn golden brown and crispy. Place all the fried potato balls in a presentable dish and serve hot with tomato sauce, chilli sauce or any mint coriander chutney.
