It is an Telangana classical sweet dish, combination of chapati and Jaggery turns in to a wonderful laddu. Malida Laddu, commonly known as Malidalu is a classic Telangana sweet dish which is a combination of chapatti, jaggery and dry fruits mixed together and made into a wonderful laddu. This sweet delicacy is extremely flavorful, rich to taste. A brilliant way of using leftover chapattis! Chapati is popular Indian flat bread made of Wheat flour. It is the staple food in most North Asian countries especially North India and Pakistan. A chapatti can be made with various other flours too like the jowar (jowari ki roti), bajra (bajre ki roti), ragi, soya etc.
Wheat flour is rich in calcium, iron, fiber and other minerals. When added to other flours, it has high amounts of proteins and fiber. Malida laddu is an unique amalgamation of combining chapattis that are ground into coarse powder with grated jaggery and mix of cashew nuts, pistachios, badam powder that adds a superlicious crunch and nutty flavor to this sweet.
