How to make CHATAMARI

Ingredients used in CHATAMARI
• Urad dal(soaked) - 1/2 cup.
• Rice(soaked) - 3/4 cup.
• Yogurt - 1/4 cup.
• Baking soda - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Baking powder - 1 pinch.
• Salt - to taste.
• Oil - 3 tablespoons.
• Ginger(chopped) - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Onion(chopped) - 1/2 cup.
• Tomato(chopped) - 1 number.
• Coriander leaves(chopped) - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Black pepper - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Red chili powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Garam masala - 1 pinch.
• Green peas - 1-2 tablespoons.
• American corn - 1/2 cup.
• Egg - 1 number.
• Coriander leaves(chopped) - 1/2 tea spoon.
Method:
  • Take a blender and add 2-3 hr soaked urad dal, rice and blend into smooth batter.
  • Take a bowl and add yogurt, batter, baking soda, baking powder, salt, 1 tablespoon oil and mix nicely.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pan and add ginger, onion and saute it.
  • To it add tomatoes, coriander leaves, black pepper, red chili powder, garam masala, green peas, American corn and saute it and check for seasoning, later keep aside.
  • Heat oil in another pan and pour one ladleful batter and spread batter like thin pancake.
  • On it spread above corn mixture and on top of it pour one whole egg and cook it on slow flame for 3 minutes with lid on it.
  • Atlast sprinkle coriander leaves, salt and cook it, later transfer into serving plate.

Now chatamari is ready to serve.

We don't use oil in chatamari. Not even on the pan before spreading it. Anyways, nice attempt!?
