Ingredients used in LAUKI THEPLA
• Bottle gourd - 1 number.
• Coriander leaves (chopped) - 1/4 bunch.
• Turmeric powder - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Cumin powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Onions (finely chopped) - 1 number.
• Salt - to taste.
• Wheat flour - 1 cup.
• Chickpea flour - 1 tablespoon.
• Oil - (2-4) tablespoons.
• Yogurt - 1 cup.
• Red chili powder - 1 tea spoon.
Method:
  • Peel and grate the bottle gourd then squeeze the water.
  • Take a bowl, add 1 cup grated bottle gourd, coriander leaves, red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, finely chopped onions, salt, wheat flour, chickpea flour, 1 teaspoon of oil and mix thoroughly.
  • Add yogurt in small quantities to it, mix thoroughly and make a stiff dough.
  • Apply oil, make small dumpling and dust the flour by press the dumpling to slightly flat. Later, roll them to a small roti's.
  • Heat the tawa and cook the thepla using oil on both sides.
  • Now the hot thepla are ready to serve directly or with any pickle.
