Prawns Kuzhambu with Onion Tomato and Coconut

Ingredients used in Prawns Kuzhambu with Onion Tomato and Coconut
• Urad dal (optional) - 1 tea spoon.
• Dry red chilies - 3 numbers.
• Fenugreek seeds - 1/8 tea spoon.
• Mustard seeds - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Oil - as required.
• Coriander powder - 1 tablespoon.
• Red chili powder - 1 tablespoon.
• Coconut (grated) - 2 tablespoons.
• Tomatoes (chopped) - 2 numbers.
• Turmeric powder - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Ginger garlic paste - 1 tea spoon.
• Salt - to taste.
• Onions (chopped) - 2 numbers.
• Curry leaves - 2 springs.
• Tamarind juice - 1/2 cup.
• Prawns - 500 grams.
• Pepper crush - 2 teaspoons.
• Coriander leaves(chopped) - 1 bunch.
Method:
  • Heat oil in a pan, add chopped onions, salt, saute it for about 2 minutes.
  • Then add ginger garlic paste, tomatoes, turmeric powder, grated coconut, chili powder, coriander powder and let it cook with closed lid for 2 minutes then let it cool down, put it into the blender and make a fine paste.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, red chilies, urad dal (optional), curry leaves, saute it.
  • To it, even add the prepared paste of onion, tomatoes and coconut paste, mix this and let it cook with closed lid for 5 to 6 minutes.
  • Now, in the same pan, add tamarind juice along with water, mix it.
  • Once it comes to boil, add prawns, mix it well and let it cook with closed lid for 2 minutes.
  • At last, add crush pepper and chopped coriander leaves, put the lid on and switch off the flame.
