Ingredients used in Pongal
• Grated ginger - 1 tea spoon.
• Cashewnuts - 7 number.
• Cumin seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Pepper corns - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Moong dal - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Rice - 1 cup.
• Ghee - 4 tablespoon.
• Salt - to taste.
Method:
  • Grind pepper corns to coarse powder and keep aside.
  • Dry roast rice and dal slightly then clean it.
  • Roast cashewnuts in 1 teaspoon of ghee and keep aside.
  • In a pressure cooker, add rice, dal, cumin seeds, hing, pepper powder along with 4 tablespoons of ghee and water(as required) and let it cook with closed lid till 4-5 whistles.
  • At last, add fried cashewnuts to garnish and serve it hot.

It was very nice...thanks for the recipe.u didnt mention about water.but i added 6.5 glasses of water for 2 cups of rice and it was yummy....
