Stuffed Mirchi Bajji

Ingredients used in Stuffed Mirchi Bajji
• Sooji/semolina - 1 cup.
• Oil - as required.
• Mustard seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Cumin seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Peanut (crushed) - 1 tablespoon.
• Sesame seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Turmeric powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Salt - to taste.
• Tamarind juice - 1 cup.
• Lemon juice - 1 tea spoon.
• Water - as required.
• Coriander leaves (chopped) - 1 bunch.
• Chilies (slit) - 7-8 number.
• Chickpea flour - 1 cup.
• Ajwain/caraway seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Chili powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Cooking soda - 1/4 tea spoon.
Method:
  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds when splutter add cumin seeds, crushed peanuts, sesame seeds, lightly saute it.
  • After about a minute of cooking, add sooji by sauteeing it continuously.
  • Then add turmeric powder, salt along with tamarind juice, lemon juice and water and mix well.
  • when it thickens, sprinkle chopped coriander leaves and green chilies and mix properly.
  • Peel the seeds of green chilies, slit and stuff it with lemon upma mixture.
  • Prepare a batter of chickpea flour, ajwain, chili powder, cooking soda by adding water.
  • Later dip the stuffed chili in batter and deep fry in hot oil.
