Ingredients used in Andhra Chicken Veppudu Biryani
• Chicken - 250 grams.
• Basmati rice (soaked) - 1 cup.
• Salt - to taste.
• Oil - as required.
• Garam masala powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Coriander leaves (chopped) - 1 bunch.
• Mint leaves (chopped) - 1 bunch.
• Onions (chopped) - 1 number.
• Cardamom - 4 number.
• Cloves - 3 number.
• Curry leaves - 2 springs.
• Red chili powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Poppy seeds (grinded) - 1 tea spoon.
• Pepper powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Lemon juice - 1 tea spoon.
Method:
  • Cook basmati rice in boiling water seasoned with salt and a halfa teaspoon of oil.
  • Can even add garam masala powder, chopped coriander, and mint leaves to the rice for additional flavoring.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add chopped onions, cardamom, cloves and saute it till onions turn golden brown in color.
  • Add mint leaves, curry leaves, chopped coriander leaves, turmeric powder, finely chopped ginger, garlic and cook it well.
  • Now, in the same pan add chicken pieces, when chicken turns slightly tender add garam masala powder, red chili powder, grindedpoppy seeds and pepper powder and cook for another 15 minutes( till chicken gets perfectly cooked).
  • At last, squeeze some lemon juice over the chicken gravy and mix well.

Delicious cooked rice with chicken fried gravy is ready to serve.
