Ingredients used in Puliyogare
• Tamarind juice - 1 cup.
• Salt - to taste.
• Sugar - 1 tablespoon.
• Cooked white rice - 2 cups.
• Coriander seeds - 4 teaspoons.
• Mustard seeds - 2 teaspoons.
• Cumin seeds - 2 teaspoons.
• Seasme seeds - 4 teaspoons.
• Grated coconut - 1 cup.
• Hing - 1 tea spoon.
• Urad dal - 2 teaspoons.
• Channa dal - 1 tea spoon.
• Jaggery small - 1 piece.
• Red chilies - 5 number.
• Oil - half cup.
• Curry leaves - few springs.
Method:
  • Dry roast 1 teaspoon of mustard seeds, cumin seeds, 2 teaspoons of sesame seeds, 1 teaspoon of channa dal, 1 teaspoon of urad dal till light brown then grind it to a fine powder.
  • Roast the coconut and mix it in above powder.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, sesame seeds, red chilies, urad dal, chana dal and saute it well.
  • Then add the tamarind juice and jaggery in the same pan. Mix salt and allow it to boil.
  • Add the powdered masala and boil till it turns thick. Mix it with the cooked rice. Serve it.

This is the easiest, quickest and most delicious recipe for puliyogare that I come across in years. I have made this multiple times for a lot of people and they love it! Thank you for the recipe!!! Add groundnuts to this and it tastes even better!
