Ingredients used in ONION CHUTNEY
• Small onion - 100 grams.
• Tamarind juice - 1/4 cup.
• Cumin seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Red chilies - 4 number.
• Mustard seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Urad dal - 1 tea spoon.
• Salt - to taste.
• Oil - as required.
• Curry leaves - 2 springs.
Method:
  • Heat oil in a pan, add sliced onions and saute it for about 2 minutes.
  • Then add red chilies and fry it.
  • Transfer it into a blender and grind to a fine paste by adding cumin seeds, tamarind and salt.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, urad dal, when splutter put curry leaves.
  • Then pour the grinded mixture into it. Cook for about 5 minutes.

    Serve it with Idli, Dosa.

Hi .. I am sincere fan of vahchef.. practically i learned cooking from him.. I do all his dishes in my home..Every time its a super .. But i really dont know what went wrong but onion chutney was not at all good.. it was sweet.. no spice.. i used all

Hey, It goes like this. 8 Red chillies, 2 Onions, 3 cloves of Garlic, 1 small tomato, a drop of tamarind extract, salt, curry leaves. Chop onion, garlic, tomato and fry them in 3 tsp of in gingely oil (sesame oil) along with red chillies.
