Ingredients used in thattai murukku
• Red chilli - 10 numbers.
• White sesame [til] - 100 grams.
• Soaked channa dal - 50 grams.
• Hing - 2-3 pinch.
• Butter, room temp - 50 grams.
• Fried channa [pottukadalai] powder - 1 cup.
• Par boiled rice - 4 cup.
• Curry leaves - few springs.
• Salt - to taste.
• Oil - to fry.
Method:

1. soak rice for 3 hours. 2.grind the rice along with chillies 3 remove from wet grinder when it becomes super smooth 4 now drain the soaked channa and dry it on a towel so as to remove the excess water. now the dal is wet but without much moisture 5to the batter add butter , til,soaked channa, hing , chopped curry leaves,pottukadalai powder,salt 6.now knead the dough thoroughly until it comes into one whole ball it should not stick to the hands. 7. now divide the dough into tennis ball sized balls 8 now arrange 10 palm sized plastic sheets. grease them 9keep a ball on the sheet and with greased fingers tap the ball into small flat round pappad like discs. let it be considerably thin . 10. now heat sufficient oil to fry 11. now gently remove the flats from the sheet and slide it in the oil remove when the oil slows sizzling 12 allow excess oil to drain amp; store in air tight containers
