Ingredients used in Sweetened Sprouted green gram salad
• Granulated jaggery or brown colored sugar - 0.75 cup.
• Finely grated fresh half riped coconut - 1 cup.
• Sprouted green gram - 2 cup.
Method:
Manually mix 2 cups of sprouted greengram, 1 cup of grated coconut and half a cup of granulated jaggery or brown colored sugar. The sprouted greengram salad is ready. Making green gram sprout: Soak the greengram(2 cups) completely in drinking water(6 cups) for 10 hours. Then drain the water. Place a rinsed wet cloth over a wide plate. The cloth should be alteast the size of the plate. Spread the soaked greengram over the cloth evenly. No greengram should be on top of the other. Place another rinsed wet cloth over the greengram spread, so that entire greengram is covered. Sprinkle little water over the cloth and cover it with a dome shaped lid. The lid should be slightly opened so that air can circulate. In this setup water should not stagnate in the plate. Keep this setup in shade near the open window for a day where there is not much disturbance. The greengram sprouts will be ready in 24 hours. Sprinkle little water if the upper cloth got dried during the sprouting process.
