SAMBAR SADAM BISI BELE BATH

Ingredients used in SAMBAR SADAM BISI BELE BATH
• Potato(chopped) - 1 number.
• Carrot(chopped) - 1 number.
• French beans(chopped) - 5 numbers.
• Cauliflower(chopped) - 1/2 cup.
• Green peas - 1/2 cup.
• Shallot - 5 numbers.
• Orka(chopped) - 5 numbers.
• Ridge gourd(chopped) - 1 number.
• Eggplant(chopped) - 2 numbers.
• Turmeric powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Oil - 1 tablespoon.
• Mustard seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Cumin seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Cashew nuts - 10 numbers.
• Dry red chili - 10 numbers.
• Curry leaves - 1 springs.
• Green chillies(chopped) - 5 numbers.
• Onion(chopped) - 1 number.
• Asafoetida - 1 pinch.
• Toor dal - 1/2 cup.
• Rice - 1 cup.
• Water - 3-5 cup.
• Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Cloves - 2 numbers.
• Cinnamon - 1 stick.
• Cardamom - 2 numbers.
• Coriander seeds - 1 tablespoon.
• Channa dal - 1 tablespoon.
• Urad dal - 1 tablespoon.
• Coconut(fresh pieces) - 1/2 cup.
• Rice - 1 cup.
• Tomato(chopped) - 1-2 numbers.
• Tamarind juice - 1 cup.
• Coriander leaves - 1/2 bunch.
• Salt - to taste.
Method:
  • Heat oil in a pan and add ½ teaspoon mustard seeds, ¼ teaspoon cumin seeds, cashew nuts, 2 nos dry red chilies, curry leaves, green chilies, onion, asafoetida and saute it.
  • Add potato, carrot, french beans, cauliflower, green peas, shallots, orka, ridge gourd, eggplant and turmeric powder and saute it.
  • Add toor dal, rice, sufficient water and cook it by placing a lid on it.
  • Take a pan and add dry red chillies, fenugreek seeds, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon stick, cardamom, coriander seeds dry roast it on slow flame.
  • Now add channa dal, urad dal, coconut, and dry roast it and transfer it into a blender and blend it into a powder.
  • When the rice is 75% cooked add tomatoes, salt and cook it.
  • When the rice is 90% cooked add dal mixture powder, tamarind juice and mix thoroughly and cook it.
  • Atlast add coriander leaves and switch off the flame.

Now the hot sambar sadam is ready to serve with boondi and raitha

Hey Vah Chef, i tried your method of cooking but the rice and other stuff is getting stuck to the bottom of pan. I guess we should use cooker to cook rice and lentil first, then put in the veg.
