There are a wide variety of delicious and scrumptious fish recipes like fish fry, tandoori fish, Salmon bhuna (Bengali style), Tinned red Salmon etc. Miso maple glazed Salmon makes a quick and easy roast dish that requires very few and simple ingredients.

Miso is an exceptionally nutritious fermented soybean paste originally from Japan and combined together to create a scintillating fusion of flavors and a lovely caramelized glazed on the broiled fish. Miso is one of the most under-appreciated ingredients in the North American diet. However, it is super easy to use in a variety of ways beyond the ubiquitous soup.

A miso soup is refreshing and has clean flavors. Miso is a traditional Japanese seasoning produced by fermenting rice, barley and/ or soybeans, salt and the fungus kojikin. It is a thick paste used for sauces and spreads, pickling vegetables or meats and mixing with dashi soup to serve as miso soup, which is a Japanese culinary staple Miso is still very widely used in Japan, both in traditional and modern cooking, and has been gaining world-wide interest.

Miso is typically salty, but its flavor and aroma depend on various factors in the ingredients and fermentation process. There is a very wide variety of miso available. Different varieties of miso have been described as salty, sweet, earthy, fruity, and savory. The combination of Miso Maple glazed Salmon might confuse people at first, but in reality the flavor make a perfect sense.

The salty, yet savory miso paste meshes beautifully with the sweet maple flavor thanks to the bridge provided by the zingy rice vinegar. A few drops of hot sauce add both depth and dimension to give this salmon some real personality. The blend provides all of the elements of sweet, savory, and spicy, tempered with zing.

To prepare this incredibly Miso maple glazy Salmon, to kick start, firstly sear the fish briefly in the pan before going under the broiler, the fillets will cook much faster and more evenly.

To make the Miso Maple Glaze, in a shallow dish, combine 1 part of yellow miso paste, 1 part seasoned rice vinegar, 1 part real maple syrup, hot sauce to taste (taste the dressing and adjust these proportions to your liking) and mix well.

Place the Salmon fillet, skin side down, on parchment paper-lined or greased rimmed baking sheet or pan. Scrape the glaze all over the Salmon fillets (top and sides). Roast in top third of oven at 400 degree F (200 C.) until fish flakes with a fork and top is lightly browned, about 12 minutes.

Broil very briefly if necessary to darken glaze, being careful not to burn parchment. Serve salmon with quinoa pilaf or roasted asparagus. This salmon fillet doesn't need marinating and is ready to roast. The natural richness of salmon is wonderful with the simple maple syrup glaze. If you prefer, remove the skin of the salmon and grill 5 minutes on each side. Baste with the maple glaze as directed.
