Ingredients used in Paneer Kadhai
• Honey - 2 tablespoons.
• Yogurt - 2 tablespoons.
• Cinnamon stick - small.
• Cardamom seeds - 2 numbers.
• Salt - to taste.
• Turmeric powder - half tea spoon.
• Red chilli powder - 1 tablespoon.
• Garam masala - to taste.
• Kasoori methi leaves - to taste.
• Cumin seeds - 1 tablespoon.
• Cumin powder - 1 tablespoon.
• Coriander powder - 1 tablespoon.
• Ginger - quart.
• Garlic - 2-3 numbers.
• Medium size tomatos - 3-4 numbers.
• Green chillis - 3-4 numbers.
• Big onion - 1 (1/2) numbers.
• Paneer - 500 grams.
• Medium size green & red capsicum - 1 numbers.
• Roasted cashews - 25-50 grams.
• Water - as required.
• Asafoetida - pinch.
• Ghee - 1 tablespoon.
• Oil - 4 tablespoons.
• Dry red chillis - 2 numbers.
• Bay leaf - 1 leaf.
• Fresh single cream - to taste.
• Chopped coriander leaves - 1 bunch.
Method:
  • Cut panner capsicum in long strips chopp onions. fry paneer golden brown and keep aside. make a pure of green chillis,ginger,garlic,rosted cashews, tometos if water required then add small amount.
  • Take a pan put on medium-high, add ghee oil together then add cardamom,cinnamom,bay leaf when smell coming out of it then add cuminseeds, asafoetida,dry red chillis.
  • First fry capsicum then add chopped onion and little salt,fry till light grown, then all dry masala powder,cook it for while. after that add pure and mix it well,
  • Then add water as thick as you gravy want. At that time put flame on low and simmer it for 10 minutes.
  • keep string in between. Now add honey, paneer,yougrt,kasoori methi leaves.
  • Give a good stir,then again simmer it for 5 minutes. finally garnish with single cream chopped coriander leaves.

It is called kadai   paneer or karahi paneer because the paneer or cottage cheese is cooked in an Indian wok called kadai.

 

 Kadai paneer is a very popular North Indian Curry made by paneer cooked in a red Indian gravy.  Kadai paneer is one of the easiest tasty Paneer dishes that can be made in minutes. It is a terrific blend of Indian spices combined with gentle pieces of cottage cheese called Paneer. To make kadai paneer, paneer is seasoned, gently spiced and cooked with tomatoes and bell pepper. It is serve along with roti, naan or jeera rice. 

 

Two main ingredients, Kasuri Methi (fenugreek leaves) and Whole Coriander Seeds play a vital role as they not only give Kadai Paneer the flavor but also distinct aroma.

 

Recipe:

Blend tomato and make it puree.  Add turmeric, kadai masala powder, red chili powder, salt, coriander seeds. Add 1 cup of water and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add water according to the desired consistency.

Add Paneer cubes and cook for almost 5 minutes in the masala. Switch off the stove. At last add kasuri methi and cilantro leaves, Check the seasoning.
