Ingredients used in ULAVACHARU
• Horse gram - 1 cup.
• Oil - 1 tablespoon.
• Mustard seeds - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Cumin seeds - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Peppercorns - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Green chillies - 2-3 numbers.
• Dry red chillies - 1-2 numbers.
• Curry leaves - 1 spring.
• Tamarind juice - 1/2 cup.
• Salt - to taste.
• Fresh cream - 1 tablespoon.
Method:
  • Soak and boil horse gram with lot of water and separate water and grind horsegram into paste.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, peppercorns, green chillies, dry red chillies, curry leaves and saute it.
  • To it add horse gram boiled water, tamarind juice, salt, horse gram paste and boil for 10 minutes.
  • Atlast add fresh cream and mix nicely.

Now Ulavacharu is ready to serve with rice.
