Mutton do Pyaz with Lentils

Ingredients used in Mutton do Pyaz with Lentils
• Mutton - 500 grams.
• Onions - 225 grams.
• Lentils - 225 grams.
• Garlic - 2 numbers.
• Cumin - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Red chillies - 5 grams.
• Salt - to taste.
• Curds - 55 grams.
• Oil - as required.
• Peppercorns - 6 numbers.
• Turmeric powder - 1/4 tea spoon.
Method:
  • Wash and cut up meat into 5 cm pieces .
  • Crush well half the onions, garlic and cumin. Grind red chillies fine .
  • Mix with salt and curds.
  • Rub curds mixture well into the meat and leave for half an hour .
  • Heat fat and fry remaining onions sliced
  • Now add meat. Cover the pan and shake well.
  • Add lentil and enough water to cover and cook over medium heat .
  • Put in crushed peppercorns and turmeric. Mix well.
  • Simmer till done and all the water is evaporated.
