Ingredients used in Methi Rice
• Cinnamon - 1 piece.
• Methi seeds - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoons.
• Coriander seeds - 2 teaspoons.
• Red chillies - 4 numbers.
• Coriander leaves - 1/4 cup.
• Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoons.
• Onion - 1 big.
• Basmati rice - 1 cup.
• Grated coconut - 1/4 cup.
• Salt - to taste.
• Water - 2 cup.
• Oil - 3 tablespoons.
Method:
Slightly roast all the ingredients from chillies to coconut and grind them into a fine powder. Heat oil in a cooker and add mustard seeds. When the seeds crackle add thinly sliced onion and fry until it turns golden brown. Add turmeric, ground powder and fry for few minutes. Finally add rice, coriander leaves, salt and water. Close the lid and cook for about 4 whistles. Serve hot with raitha.
