Ingredients used in meen karuthkari
• Ajwain (omam) - 2.5 teaspoons.
• Dry ginger(chukku) - 3 piece.
• Garlic - 15 clove.
• Shallots - 10 numbers.
• Pepper - 1 teaspoons.
• Corriander seeds - 3 tablespoons.
• Red chillies - 7or8 numbers.
• Coconut - 1 numbers.
• Therachi meen or any other fish - 750 grams.
• Asafoetida - 1 or 2 teaspoons.
• Curry leaves - 3 springs.
• Tamarind - 1 lemon big.
• Salt - to taste.
Method:

clean fish and keep aside.Heat the kadai and dry roast all the ingrediants in slow fire(except tamarind and salt). it should be done only in slow fire (compulsary).Dry roast till the coconut turns to dark brown.remove from stove allow to cool completly.after that grind it to a smooth paste adding tamarind water and salt. pour this mixture to a earthern pot and cook till the gravy splits oil at this stage add the fish pieces and simmer it for 5 to 10 minutes .
