Ingredients used in MEDHU VADA
• Pepper corns - 1 teaspoons.
• Hing - pinch.
• Oil - to fry.
• Salt - to taste.
• Curry leaves - a twig .
• Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoons.
• Onions - 1 numbers.
• Urad dhall - 200 grams.
• Coriander leaves - springs.
• Coconut pices(optional) - 2 tablespoons.
Method:
Saok urad dhall for atleast 6 hours. Grind in blender, mixing in between to allow aeration. Put urad dhall batter in a bowl. Add hing, crushed pepper corns, curry leaves, coriander leaves, cumin seeds and salt. To test correct consistency of dough, put a small ball of dough in water. If consistency is right, ball will float. To aerate the dough well, beat the whisk the dough well with your hand, mixing well. Now, dough ball if put into water will float. Heat oil. Take a bit of dough in your palm and flatten. Make a small hole in the center. Drop vadas into oil. Turn vadas the other side when they turn brown. Remove from fire when vadas are golden brown.
