Ingredients used in MATAR KACHORI
• All purpose flour - 1 cup.
• Salt - to taste.
• Carom seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Oil - to fry.
• Asafoetida - 1 pinch.
• Green peas - 1 cup.
• Turmeric powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Red chili powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Ginger(crushed) - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Green chillies(chopped) - 1 number.
• Amchur powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Chaat masala - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Chickpea flour - 1 tablespoon.
Method:
  • Take a bowl and add all purpose flour, salt, 1 teaspoon carom seeds, 1 tablespoon oil and mix nicely later add water to make the dough, keep aside for 15 minutes.
  • Take a mixie jar and add green peas and blend it coarsely.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add ½ teaspoon carom seeds, asafoetida, green peas saute it.
  • Add salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, ginger, green chillies, amchur powder, chaat masala, chickpea flour and saute it for 2 minutes and switch off the flame.
  • Divide the dough into small portions and make round with hollow in the center and keep the stuffing.
  • Close the edges and roll it lightly.
  • Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the kachoris on slow flame for 10 minutes, until it changes to golden brown in colour.
  • Transfer it into paper towel.

Now hot kachori are ready to serve with tomato ketchup.
