Ingredients used in Masala Chicken
• Poppy seeds - 1 tablespoon.
• Salt - to taste.
• Coriander powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Fresh coconut pieces - 1 cup.
• Ginger garlic paste - 1 tea spoon.
• Oil - as required.
• Onion (chopped) - 1 number.
• Turmeric powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Curry leaves - 2 springs.
• Tomato puree - 1/2 cup.
• Garam masala powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Water - as required.
• Chicken - 500 grams.
• Coconut milk - 1 cup.
• Pepper powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Coriander leaves (chopped) - 1 bunch.
Method:
  • Dry roast poppy seeds, then grind it by adding salt, coriander powder.
  • Later even add chopped fresh coconut pieces to grind it again to a fine paste.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add chopped onion, saute it onions are slightly transparent.
  • Then add ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, earlier ground masala paste, cook it.
  • When finally oil oozes, put curry leaves, tomato puree, garam masala powder, along with some water, let it cook for few more minutes.
  • To it, cook it again by adding chicken for 15-20 minutes.
  • Again, put coconut milk and mix it well.
  • At last, sprinkle pepper powder, chopped coriander and mint leaves, mix and serve it hot.
