Cake Rusk Recipe, How To Make Cake Rusk Recipe

Rusks in India are a favorite tea time snack. Dipping the crispy rusk in tea is something many of us would have done when we were kids and still continue to do so.

Cake rusk is an asian dessert and is a kind of double baked cake which goes well with chai/ tea.It is light brown in color & crispy in texture and taste.These crispy browned cake rusks are quite popular in Pakistan.

Ingredients used in Cake Rusk
• Eggs - 2 numbers.
• Cooking oil - half cup.
• All-purpose flour - 8 cups.
• Sugar - 1 cup.
• Yeast package - 1 number.
• Salt - 1.5 teaspoons.
• Cardamom seeds - 2 teaspoons.
• Water (warm) - as required.
Method:
  • Dissolve yeast in the lukewarm water. Stir in the 1 tsp. of sugar, set aside for 1 hour.
  • Mix the oil with cup sugar, add eggs, salt , 2 cups of warm water and dissolved yeast. Then mix flour, cardamom seeds and knead until smooth.
  • Grease a bowl perfectly with oil. keep dough in it. Brush top with melted butter or oil. Cover, set aside in a warm place until dough rises double. (Minimum 2 hours.)
  • Make out in loaves in a long pan (you may use aluminum ice cube trays, which makes about 5 loaves).
  • When cooled, slice and dry. Toast in a 200 degree oven until dry and light brown.
