Ingredients used in Bodi Pulao
• Rice soaked for 1 hour - 250 grams.
• Black eyed beans - 150 grams.
• Onions medium sliced - 2 numbers.
• Fenugreek seeds - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Garlic - 1 teaspoons.
• Ginger - 1 teaspoons.
• Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoons.
• Red chilli powder - 1 teaspoons.
• Coriander seeds - 1 teaspoons.
• Tomatoes - 150 grams.
• Water - 5 cup.
• Garam masala - 1 teaspoons.
• Oil - 3 tablespoons.
• Butter - 2 tablespoons.
• Green cardamoms - 2 numbers.
• Clove - 4 numbers.
Method:

1.soak the beans for 4.5 hours or over night.

2.heat the oil in a pressure cooker and fry the onions . take out when brown and keep aside.

3.add the fenugreek seeds and garlic-ginger.fry for 10 mins.

4.now add the turmeric cumin red chilli and coriander powders and tomatoes.cook till the oil separates.

5.add the drained beans and salt and fry for a while.add the water and pressure cook for five minutes.remove from the fire and keep aside.check whether the beans are cooked or not.if not, cook further for a while.

6.in a heavy-bottomed pan heat the butter add the green cardamoms and cloves.

7.when they stop cracklingadd the rice after draining it.fry for 4-5 minutes stirring gently so that the rice does not break .

8.add the beans with the water and bring to a boil.add the garam masala powder and half the fried onions.cook covered over a low flame stirring once very gently till the water dries.then cook the rice covered all thenbsp;time and keep warm.

9.just before serving stir once gently and serve with the remaining fried onions.nbsp;
