Ingredients used in Barley Payasam
• Barley seeds - 1 cup.
• Water - as required.
• Milk - 1 cup.
• Jaggery - 1 cup.
• Dates - 3 number.
• Saffron color - 1 tablespoon.
• Ghee - 1 tablespoon.
• Cashew nuts - 6 number.
• Raisins - 6 number.
Method:
  • Dry roast barley seeds till they slightly change in color andblend them to coarse powder.
  • Boil water in a pan, add powdered barley and cook it for about 10 minutes.
  • Now add milk, jaggery, cook well, then add chopped dates, saffron colour andgive it a mix.
  • Heat ghee in a pan, add cashew nuts, raisins saute it and transfer into cooking bowl.

Barley Payasam is now ready to serve
