Soya granules mixed with boiled lobia and masalas to make delightful tikki’s go perfect with different kind of chutneys. Soya Lobia Tikkis are extremely refreshing and comforting snack foods which can be eaten on its own or served with phulka and green salad. These amazing Tikkis are made with boiled rajma and soya granules mixed with few spices and pan fried until perfection.


 


These tikkis are absolutely healthy and nutritious snacks that kids too would love to eat. Serve hot with any kind of chutney or sauce. Soya Lobia tikki is an awesome snack that would taste great with tea or coffee. These tikkis are easy and simple to prepare. They require very few ingredients. The tikkis are subtly spiced infused with ginger & garlic flavor and drizzle of lemon juice which adds that extra zest to the tikki.


 


Rajma or the Kidney beans used in making the tikkis is a very popular deep reddish brown color bean which offers extremely high nutritional benefits. When cooked they are robust, full-bodied and soft in texture. The beans can be cooked and eaten or added into a variety of dishes such as casseroles, refries beans and salads. One such dish made with rajma is the Rajma chawal which is a very popular north Indian vegetarian dish consisting of red kidney beans cooked in thick gravy with lots of Indian whole spices served with rice and roti.


Recipe:  Soya Lobia Tikkis



Ingredients:



  1. Rajma                                  -       1 cup

  2. Turmeric                             -       ½ tsp

  3. Red Chilli powder            -       1 tsp

  4. Ginger garlic paste          -       ½ tsp

  5. Coriander powder            -       ½ tsp

  6. Cumin powder                  -       ½ tsp

  7. Lemon juice                      -       2 tsp

  8. Soya granules                   -       ¾ cup

  9. Salt                                      -       to taste

  10. Oil                                       -       for frying

  11. Phulkas                             -       4 -5 nos

  12. Onion                                -       1 no

  13. Tomato                              -       1 no


Directions:



  1. Soak rajma overnight and boil it in the morning.

  2. Mash this well, add turmeric pd, red chilli pd, ginger garlic paste, coriander powder, cumin powder, lemon juice and mix well.

  3. Add soya granules (which have been already soaked in water) without any moisture.

  4. Add salt to taste and mix thoroughly.

  5. Make small tikkis (your desired shape) and keep aside.

  6. Heat a flat tawa, add little oil and pan fry these tikkis on both side until they get a nice golden color.

  7. Remove and transfer to a plate.

  8. Serve hot with small phulkas and slices of onion and tomato on it.

In addition to lowering cholesterol, kidney beans' high fiber content prevents blood sugar levels from rising too rapidly after a meal, making these beans an especially good choice for individuals with diabetes, insulin resistance or hypoglycemia. When combined with whole grains such as rice, kidney beans provide virtually fat-free high quality protein.


 


They are also high in starch, protein and dietary fiber and is an excellent source of iron, potassium, selenium, molybdenum, thiamine, vitamin B6 and folic acid. Kidney beans are very nutritious. Even though, this dish is heavy, it tastes good and is nutritious as well. In addition, it is very easy to prepare, consumes less oil and can make a meal complete. This curry can be prepared with dried or canned kidney beans. It can be consumed along with Indian flat bread, crackers or long grained rice.
