Quick and simple coconut chutney

Ingredients used in Quick and simple coconut chutney
• Urad daal - ½ tea spoon.
• Cumin seeds - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Mustard seeds - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Oil - 1 tablespoon.
• Green chilly - 2 numbers.
• Shallots (baby onions) - 2 numbers.
• Asafoetida - 1 pinch.
• Salt - to taste.
• Ginger(small) - 2 pieces.
• Grated coconut - 1 cup.
• Chana daal - ½ tea spoon.
• Red chilly - 2 numbers.
• Curry leaves - 2 springs.
• Hing - 1 pinch.
Method:
  • Take grated coconut, ginger, green chilly, salt, shallots, put all together in a blender and make a paste.
  • Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, urad daal, chana daal, red chilly, cook this in the oil till lentils are golden brown.
  • Add asafoetida, salt, curry leaves, pour the tempering on the top of the chutney and mix it well.

Serve this with adai, roti.
