Wow!  Onion rings  is definitely one snack that is eaten for its crispy and crunchy taste. They’re just super deep fried spicy rings, easy to prepare, cheap as well as delicious.  Onion rings is a popular side dish commonly found in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and some parts of Asia.  Generally making of this recipe consist of a cross-sectional ring onion which is dipped in bread crumbs, spicy flour and deep fried until crisp and crunchy. This makes a fantastic presentation through a variety of sizes of onions. Onion rings can be eaten on its own or else dipped into ketchup or spicy sauces.


 


Onion is a versatile ingredient used in almost all cuisines and a vital ingredient in most of the global recipes used in salads, stir fries, curries or gravy based dishes. They are extensively used in most veg and non-veg preparations. Onions can be consumed either raw, pickled in vinegar, fried in oil, baked or boiled. They are a boon to mankind that makes us cry while curing us of several illnesses at the same time.


 


It is often called the ‘King of vegetables mainly for its pungent taste. Whether you eat it raw or cooked, onions help to lower blood pressure naturally.  It also thins the blood, dissolve blood clots and clear the blood of unhealthy fats.

Ingredients:


Bread crumbs                  -       1 cup


Chilli powder                   -       to taste


Cornflour                         -       3 tbsp


Large onion                      -       1 no


All-purpose flour (maida) -       1 cup


Oil                                    -       for deep frying


Salt                                  -       to taste


Soda                                        -       pinch


Water                               -       as required  


Directions:


Cut onions into rings and keep a side. In a bowl add all purpose flour, corn flour, soda, salt, chilli powder, bread crumbs and mix with water to a thick batter. Now take onion rings, coat with the dry flour and dip in the flour mixture and coat with bread crumbs. Drop the slowly in hot oil and deep fry until  golden brown colour.
