Main Ingredient : Shrimp

Published date : November 09, 2016

Ingredients used in NEPALI SHIRMP ACHAAR
• Salt - to taste.
• Sliced onion - 3 big.
• Red dried chillies - 1 bunch.
• Dried shrimp - 300 grams.
• Crushed ginger - 3 tablespoons.
• Crushed garlic - 4 tablespoons.
• Oil - as required.
• Soya sauce - 1 tea spoon.
• Chillie powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Ajino moto - 1 tea spoon.
Method:
  • Wash the dried shrimp in warm water and remove impurities.
  • Crush it a little along with the red dried chillies. Put oil in a pan and fry it till the shrimp is crunchy, and keep aside.
  • Now in the same pan put a little oil and fry the sliced onion till it is caramel in color. Dont let it burn.
  • Take it out of the pan and keep it aside.
  • Now again put a little oil and then fry the crushed ginger and garlic, till the garlic is cooked and then add all the fried ingredients into it.
  • Then add a little soya sauce, salt, chilli powder, and ajino moto.
  • Now turn off the stove. Let it cool down and them put it in a jar.

Since all the ingredients are fried, you can keep this achar for quite sometime and relish it with plain rice, or even roti.
