Ingredients used in Mutton Bones Rasam
• Tender mutton bones with fat - 250 grams.
• Tomato (chopped) - 1 cup.
• Curry leaves - 2 spring.
• Mint leaves - 2 bunch.
• Salt - to taste.
• Dry red chillies - 3-4 numbers.
• Peppercorns - 1 tea spoon.
• Cumin seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Fennel seeds - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Coriander seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Ginger - 1 tablespoon.
• Garlic - 5-6 cloves.
• Shallots - 6-8 numbers.
• Water - as required.
• Turmeric powder - 1 tea spoon.
Method:
  • In a sauce pot, add in the tender bones and fat with water and cook for about an hour or put the bones with fat in a pressure cooker and cook until done.
  • In another pan, dry roast the dry red chillies, peppercorns, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, fennel seeds, ginger, garlic and shallot.
  • Grind all these ingredients to make a coarse paste.
  • To the mutton bones, add tomatoes, little turmeric powder, curry leaves, mint and salt.
  • Add the coarse masala paste and mix well.
  • Cover with lid and cook until the tomatoes are totally cooked.
  • Switch off the flame and serve hot with any type of naan or rice.

Put one tea spoon of oil..and saute the masala paste then add to that mutton soup...it will give even more taste. ..nothing rawness will there in masala after saute that...
