Ingredients used in Malai chicken
• Chicken (cut into pieces) - 1 kg.
• Onion - 1 number.
• Red chilies - 1 number.
• Cloves - 2 numbers.
• Cardamom pods - 2 numbers.
• Cinnamon stick - 1 small.
• Bay leaf - 1 leaf.
• Cilantro leaves - 1 tea spoon.
• Coriander powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Cumin powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Garam masala powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Red chilli powder - 1(1/4) tea spoon.
• Turmeric powder - half tea spoon.
• Tomato paste - 1 cup.
• Whipped cream - 1 tea spoon.
• Ginger paste - 1 tea spoon.
• Garlic paste - 1 tea spoon.
• Salt - to taste.
• Cooking oil - to taste.
Method:
Heat oil in a pot on medium heat. Add the red chilies, cloves, cardamom pods, cinnamon stick, and bay leaf. Fry until the bay leaf turns golden brown. Add chopped onion and saute it for few minutes. Add ginger paste and garlic paste, again fry for another 4 to 6 minutes. Add chicken pieces and fry for another 5 minutes or so. Sprinkle on top the salt, red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and turmeric powder and mix it well. Add 1 glass of water. mix and cook for about 20 minutes on medium flame or until chicken is almost done. Add can of tomato paste, mix and cook on low heat until chicken is well done. Finally add the whipped cream and cook for another 5 minutes. Add garam masala powder and coriander leaves and let it cook for another couple minutes and remove from heat. Tasty and delicious Malai Chicken is ready to serve.
