Malabar Parata with Chana Capsicum Curry

Ingredients used in Malabar Parata with Chana Capsicum Curry
• Coconut oil - 1 tea spoon.
• Salt - to taste.
• Water - as required.
• All-purpose flour ( maida ) - 1 cup.
• Mustard seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Oil - as required.
• Cumin seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Curry leaves - 1 spring.
• Onions ( chopped ) - 1 number.
• Turmeric powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Tomatoes ( chopped ) - 1 number.
• Coriander powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Red chili powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Chana dal ( saoaked ) - 1 cup.
• Capsicum ( chopped ) - 1/2 cup.
• Garam masala - 1 tea spoon.
• Coriander leaves - 1 bunch.
Method:
  • Take a bowl, add coconut oil, salt, water and mix it well.
  • Now add maida and mix to a thick dough by adding water in small quantities and let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, chopped onions, turmeric powder, salt and sauté it.
  • Then add chopped tomatoes, coriander powder, red chili powder, soaked chana dal and cook it with closed lid.
  • Mean while divide the prepared dough into small portions and roll them (like paratas).
  • Roast the paratas on both sides by drizziling some oil along the edges and repeat the same procedure with all portions.
  • Now add chopped capsicum, garam masala, coriander leaves to the cooking pan and cook for about 5 minutes.

Malabar Parata with Chana Capsicum Curry is now ready to serve
