Ingredients used in DAL KOFTA PULAO
• Chana dal(soaked) - 1/2 cup.
• Toor dal(soaked) - 1/2 cup.
• Moong dal - 1/2 cup.
• Garlic - 3 cloves.
• Salt - to taste.
• Coconut - 1/4 cup.
• Green chilies - 4 numbers.
• Poppy seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Cashew nut - 3 numbers.
• Oil - 3-4 tablespoons.
• Ginger paste - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Onion(chopped) - 1 number.
• Whole garam masala - 1 tablespoon.
• Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Tomato(chopped) - 3 numbers.
• Turmeric powder - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Coriander powder - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Basmati rice - 1 cup.
Method:
  • Take a mixie jar and add chana dal, toor dal, sprouted moong dal, ginger paste, garlic, salt and grind it.
  • Make round balls and shallow fry in oil.
  • Another mixie jar add coconut, green chilies, poppy seeds, cashew nut and blend into a paste.
  • In the same oil pan add onions, whole garam masala, ginger garlic paste, salt, tomato and saute it.
  • Add turmeric powder, coriander powder and poppy seeds mixture paste, water and mix nicely and boil it with the lid on it.
  • Add soaked basmati rice and cook with the lid on it.
  • When it 90% cooked arrange shallow fried koftas on top and cook it for 5 minutes, with the lid on and rest it for 7 minutes.

Now dal kofta pulao is ready to serve.
