Ingredients used in CHOW CHOW CHANNA DAL PORIYAL
• Chow chow - 200 grams.
• Ginger(small pieces) - 3 numbers.
• Coconut - ½ cup.
• Green chilli - 6 numbers.
• Oil - 2 tablespoons.
• Mustard seeds - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Red chilies - 2 numbers.
• Cumin seeds - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Urad dal - ½ tea spoon.
• Curry leaves - 2 springs.
• Salt - to taste.
• Chana dal - ½ cup.
Method:
  • In a blender add ginger, fresh coconut and green chilli blend it like a coarse paste.
  • Heat a pan add oil when oil is hot add mustard seeds.when mustard seeds splutter then add red chillies, cumin seeds, urad dal, curry leaves, a pinch of hing and chow chow vegetable pieces, salt mix it and cook this with the lid on.
  • In this add prepared coconut and green chilli paste and also add chana dal (soaked and boiled) mix it well and cook it for 5 minutes with the lid on.

Serve with rotis.
