Ingredients used in Beef and Rice
• Rice - 1 cup.
• Red kidney beans - 500 grams.
• Beef - 250 grams.
• Green bell pepper - 2 numbers.
• Bay leaf - 1 number.
• Red chili powder - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons.
• Onion - 1 number.
• Curry powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Black pepper powder - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Water - as required.
• Salt - to taste.
Method:
  • Cut beef into 1-inch pieces.
  • Heat oil in a pant. Cook and stir beef in oil over medium heat until brown on all sides, about 15 minutes.
  • Add water, bay leaf, salt and red chili powder. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 45 minutes.
  • Drain beef, reserving broth. Add enough water to reserved broth to measure 2 cups. Mix beef, broth and remaining ingredients.
  • Pour into ungreased 2-quart casserole. Cover and bake at 350 degrees F until liquid is absorbed ,45 to 50 minutes.
