Ingredients used in RAW BANANA SALAN
• Peanuts - 1 tablespoons.
• Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoons.
• Coconut powder - 1 tablespoons.
• Salt - to taste.
• Mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 teaspoons.
• Onions - 1 numbers.
• Dry red chilly - 3 numbers.
• Ginger garlic paste - 1 teaspoons.
• Curry leaves - 1 springs.
• Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Coriander powder - 1 teaspoons.
• Red chilly powder - 1 tablespoons.
• Turmeric powder - 1 pinch.
• Green chilly - 2 numbers.
• Chopped coriander leaves - 1/2 bunch.
• Chopped mint leaves - 1/2 bunch.
• Green plantain - 1 numbers.
• Tamarind juice - 1/4 cup.
• Jaggery - 1 piece.
• Oil - to fry.
Method:
  • Take green plantain and remove the peel lightly and cut them to ¾ inch pieces.
  • Then boil them in the salt water and with the help of wooden spoon press the banana pieces and deep fry in oil and keep it aside.
  • Heat a pan and on slow flame dry roast peanuts, sesame seeds, coconut powder and sauté it.
  • Then put this into the blender and add some water and make a smooth paste.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, dry red chilly, fenugreek seeds and saute it.
  • Then add sliced onions, salt, curry leaves, cook this until onions turn golden in colour.
  • To it, add ginger garlic paste cook this till raw flavour is gone.
  • Then add turmeric powder, red chilly powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, green chilly, prepared paste.
  • Later add water, make like a thin paste, cook this on a slow flame for 30 minutes.
  • Then add chopped coriander leaves, chopped mint leaves, tamarind juice, jaggery, salt, cook this for few minutes and add fried banana pieces put the lid on let it cook for one minute.
  • Now switch off the flame and after 10 minutes serve this dish.
