Ingredients used in QUINOA UPMA
• Ghee - 2 tablespoons.
• Mustard seeds - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Cumin seeds - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Green chillies(chopped) - 1 number.
• Curry leaves - 1 spring.
• Onions(chopped) - 1 tablespoon.
• Ginger(chopped) - 1 tea spoon.
• Carrot(chopped) - 1 tablespoon.
• Salt - to taste.
• Quinoa - 1/2 cup.
• Hot water - 1 cup.
• Coriander leaves - 1/4 bunch.
• Lime juice - 1 tea spoon.
• Ground nuts(roasted) - 1 tablespoon.
• Tomato(chopped) - 1 number.
Method:
  • Heat ghee in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, green chillies, curry leaves, onions, ginger and saute it.
  • Add carrots, little salt and saute it.
  • Wash the quinoa then soak it for 5 -20 minutes and strain the water.
  • To the above pan add quinoa, water, salt and mix thoroughly then place the lid and cook it on slow flame for 10 minutes.
  • Add roasted ground nuts, lime juice, coriander leaves.

Now the protein rich quinoa is ready to serve.
