Ingredients used in PRAWN VARUVAL
• Salt - to taste.
• Turmeric powder - half tea spoon.
• Red chilli powder - 2 tablespoons.
• Tamarind pulp - 1 (1/2) tablespoons.
• Cumin powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Ginger-garlic paste - 1 (1/2) tablespoons.
• Prawns - 12 large.
• Rice flour - 2 tablespoons.
• Oil - as required.
• Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon.
Method:
  • Wash and pat the prawns dry . Mix ginger garlic paste with cumin powder,tamarind pulp red chilli powder,turmeric powder,salt and rice flour and blend 2 tablespoons of oil in it.
  • Marinate prawns in this mixture and leave aside for at least 2 hours in refrigerator.
  • Heat oil in pan,add the marnated prawns and cook on high heat for a minute.
  • Turn over the prawns and cook for another minute.reduce heat and cook for 2-3 minutes. remove and drain excess oil on paper.
  • Sprinkel lime juice and serve hot.
