Ingredients used in MIRCHI VADA
• Green chillies/bajji mirchi - (8-10) numbers.
• Chickpea flour - 1 cup.
• Cooking soda - 1 pinch.
• Carom seeds/ajwain - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Salt - to taste.
• Oil - to fry.
• Amchur powder - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Sugar - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Coriander powder - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Cumin powder - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Potato (boiled and mashed) - 1 cup.
• Garam masala - 1 pinch.
• Corn flour - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Red chili powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Turmeric powder - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Coriander leaves (chopped) - 1/2 bunch.
Method:
  • Slit green chillies, remove the seeds and keep aside.
  • Take a bowl, add chickpea flour, cooking soda, carom seeds, salt, water and mix it to make smooth bajji batter.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pan, add chickpea flour, amchur powder, sugar, coriander powder, cumin powder, little salt and saute it.
  • Transfer into a plate, add little water to make a paste, stuff this mixture in green chillies and keep aside.
  • Take a bowl and add mashed potato, chopped coriander leaves, garam masala, corn flour, red chili powder, turmeric powder, salt and mix the potato mixture nicely.
  • Take stuffed green chillies and coat potato mixture and dip in chickpea batter.
  • Heat oil in a pan and deep fry it until golden brown in colour.
  • Transfer into paper towel and cut into half.

Now mirchi vada is ready to serve hot with meethi chutney.
