GENERAL Tso’s CHICKEN

Ingredients used in GENERAL Tso’s CHICKEN
• Chicken stock - 1 cup.
• Soya sauce - 2-1/2 tablespoons.
• Hoisin sauce - 1 tablespoon.
• Sugar - 1 tablespoon.
• Rice vinegar - 2 tablespoons.
• Pepper powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Corn flour - 1/2 cup.
• Egg (white) - 1 number.
• Oil - to fry.
• Dry red chilies - 5 numbers.
• Garlic (chopped) - 1 tea spoon.
• Ginger (chopped) - 1 tea spoon.
• Water - 1/2 cup.
• Sesame seeds oil - 1 tea spoon.
• Chicken - 500 grams.
Method:
  • In a bowl, add chicken stock, 2 tablespoons of soya sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar, rice vinegar, pepper and keep the sauce aside.
  • In a cup, mix corn flour and water and keep aside.
  • Take a bowl and add 1 tablespoon of soya sauce, egg white and beat it.
  • Add cornflour and mix to a slightly thin batter consistency then add chicken and mix thoroughly.
  • Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the pieces on medium flame until the chicken is cooked.
  • Heat 2 tablespoons of oil, add dry red chilies (optional), chopped garlic, ginger and saute it.
  • Then add fried chicken, prepared sauce, little cornstarch mixture and cook it until sauce is absorbed by the chicken pieces.

Now transfer it to a plate and garnish with spring onions and serve it.
