FATTA FAT CHUTNEY -BOTTLE GOURD AND CURD CHUTNEY

Ingredients used in FATTA FAT CHUTNEY -BOTTLE GOURD AND CURD CHUTNEY
• Bottle gourd (pieces) - 1 cup.
• Yogurt - 1 cup.
• Salt - to taste.
• Green chilli - 3-4 numbers.
• Mustard seeds - ½ tea spoon.
• Ginger (small pieces) - 3 numbers.
• Raw coconut pieces - 1/4 cup.
• Coriander leaves - 2 bunch.
• Oil - 2 tablespoons.
• Red chilli - 3 numbers.
• Cumin seeds - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Fenugreek seeds - 1 pinch.
• Urad dal - ½ tea spoon.
• Turmeric powder - 1 pinch.
• Asafoetida - 1 pinch.
• Curry leaves - 1 spring.
Method:
  • First, peel and chop the bottle gourd into small pieces
  • In a vessel boil some water and add the bottle gourd pieces, salt and put the lid on and let it cook till the bottle gourd pieces are tender.
  • In a blender add green chili, ginger, mustard seeds, some raw coconut pieces, 2 bunches of coriander leaves and 2 to 3 teaspoon of yogurt and blend it all together and make a coarse paste, pour this into a bowl.
  • In this add a cup of yogurt, salt and mix it well and also add cooked bottle gourd pieces.
  • Heat oil in a pan for seasoning, add red chili, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, urad dal, a pinch of turmeric powder, hing and curry leaves fry for a minute then pour this tempering on the top of the bottle gourd and yogurt chutney and mix it well.

serve this chutney with Rice or Roti.

Chef..this is very similar to bottle guard raita..but this is off course in ur special south Indian style!! Lol.. I do like different kinds of chutneys &raitas &would definitely like to see some more variations..but plz don't do all of

Zalim,where am I gonna find all these spices. You don't have even one recipe with less spice that I would be able to make. They all look so good though :( What if I make it without these spices. Will it come out good??
