Ingredients used in Drumstick Dal Curry
• Mustard seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Dry red chilies - 4 number.
• Coriander seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Cumin seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Pepper - 1 tea spoon.
• Chana dal - 1 tablespoon.
• Urad lentils /urad dal - 1 tablespoon.
• Toor dal - 1 tablespoon.
• Moong dal - 1 tablespoon.
• Red gram dal - 1 tablespoon.
• Fresh coconut (grated) - 1 tea spoon.
• Turmeric powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Hing - 1 pinch.
• Tomato pieces - 1 number.
• Curry leaves - 3 springs.
• Drumstick (chopped) - 1 number.
• Green chilies (slitted) - 3 number.
• Tamarind juice - 1 cup.
• Salt - to taste.
• Jaggery - 1 tablespoon.
• Water - as required.
Method:
  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, dry red chilies, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, pepper, chana dal, urad dal, toor dal, moong dal, red gram dal, saute it.
  • After about 1-2 minutes, add grated fresh coconut, turmeric powder, hing, tomato pieces, curry leaves, saute all this till tomatoes get to mashy consistency.
  • Later grind all these ingredients to a fine paste and keep aside.
  • Now, heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds,dry red chilies, curry leaves, drumstick pieces, slitted green chilies, fry them.
  • To it, add tamarind juice, salt and let it boil for some time.
  • When drumstick is perfectly cooked, add jaggery, earlier ground masala paste along with some water, cook it.

Delicious Drumstick Dal Curry is now ready to serve.
