Ingredients used in DAHI MURGH SHERVA
• Chicken - 500 grams.
• Potato - 1 number.
• Poppy seeds - 1 tablespoon.
• Cashew nuts - 20 grams.
• Oil - 3 tablespoons.
• Cloves - 4 numbers.
• Cardamom - 3 numbers.
• Cinnamon sticks - 2 numbers.
• Bay leaf - 2 numbers.
• Onion(chopped) - 1 number.
• Tomatoes(chopped) - 2 numbers.
• Turmeric powder - 1 pinch.
• Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tablespoon.
• Kashmiri chili powder - 1-1/2 tablespoon.
• Cumin powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Coriander powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Yogurt - 1/2 cup.
• Salt - to taste.
Method:
  • In a hot pan dry roast the poppy seeds and cashew nuts, let it cool down then make a paste in a blender by adding some water.
  • Heat oil in a pan add cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, bay leaf saute it and add chopped onions cook the onions till they are slightly golden in color.
  • In this add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste, cook the ginger garlic paste raw flavor is gone.
  • Add Kashmiri chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, yogurt and add prepared poppy seeds and cashew paste mix well put the lid on and let it cook for 5 minutes.
  • After 5 minutes add chicken pieces and potato pieces and add required water for sherva put the lid on and cook until chicken and potatoes tender.

Serve it with rice.

By the way you eat it, you make me hungry... My dad loves also indian food, but ofcourse the good recipes and this one looks awesome.. And one question.. In case i don't find cashews and poppy seeds , what can i use? Almonds??
