Ingredients used in Bottlegourd Mutton
• Ginger garlic paste - 1 tablespoon.
• Onion - 1 number.
• Oil - 2 tablespoons.
• Cumin powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Coriander powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Salt - to taste.
• Dry coconut powder - 2 tablespoons.
• Red chillie powder - 2 teaspoons.
• Tomatoes - 4 small.
• Bottle gourd - 1 small.
• Goat or lamb - 2 lbs.
• Cloves - 6 numbers.
• Cinnamon stick - 1 small.
• Cardamom - 4 numbers.
• Cilantro - few springs.
• Water - as required.
Method:
  • Grind coconut powder along with cloves cinnamon and cardamom.
  • Cut the mutton in to small pieces ,wash it and keep it aside. cut the onions and tomatoes.
  • Cook the tomatoes in microwave till they get soft. Peel the bottle gourd and cut into small pieces.
  • Take a pressure cooker and place it on stove top.
  • Heat the oil and add diced onions. After the onions caramalise little bit add ginger garlic paste and cook it for 1 minute. add bottle gourd pieces and cook it for 2 more minutes.
  • Then add the mutton coconut and garam masala paste.Pour water needed to cook mutton and close the pressure cooker.
  • No.of whistles depend on quality of mutton. After the pressure cooker is cooled open it and add red chili powder, salt, coriander powder, cumin powder and the microwave cooked tomatoes.
  • Cook it for 5 minutes till you get desired consistency.
  • You can add water if you need more gravy.
  • Atlast add cilantro and switch off the stove.

Delicious Mutton curry is ready.
