Shrimp-Coconut Masala Fry

Ingredients used in Shrimp-Coconut Masala Fry
• Shrimp/prawn (1 kg) - 1000 grams.
• Cumin seeds - 1 tea spoon.
• Coconut powder - 1+1/2 tablespoon.
• Oil - as required.
• Green chillies(chopped) - 3 number.
• Curry leaves(chopped) - 1 tea spoon.
• Ginger garlic paste - 1+1/2 tablespoon.
• Turmeric powder - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Coriander powder - 1+1/2 tablespoon.
• Curd/yoghurt - 2 teaspoons.
• Red chili powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Pepper powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Red chilies (whole) - 3 number.
• Onion (chopped) - 1/2 cup.
• Mustard seeds - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Coriander leaves (chopped) - 1/2 bunch.
• Lemon juice - 1/2 slice.
Method:
  • Put oil in a wide open non stick pan. Add red chilies, mustard seeds to it till they crackle.Add cumin seeds ,chopped onion coconut powder .Saute well . [Note:-Avoid frying onions till they are golden brown]
  • Add green chillies, salt, curry leaves saute well on medium flame.Add ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, coriander powder, curd, red chili powder & mix well till the mixture dries.
  • Strain excess water, add shrimp to the masala prepared .Mix well, cook slowly till the water from shrimp has oozed out and mixture is dry.
  • Sprinkle pepper powder as seasoning .
  • Garnish it with chopped coriander leaves & lemon juice.

Very nice! Awesome too! I normally get coconut milk in a can, how do I make this dish as dry as you have done? It reminded me of the Malaysian sambal we make at home.
