Ingredients used in Tareko Alu
• Potatoes - 500 grams.
• Mustard oil - 200 ml.
• Fenugreek seeds - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoons.
• Salt - to taste.
• Garlic - 8 clove.
• Ginger - 1 tablespoons.
• Green chillies - 4-5 numbers.
• Black peppercorns - 1 teaspoons.
Method:

1.wash the potatoes and cut diagonally into 6#39;#39;-long pieces.wash once more and soak in cold water.

2.heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pan and add the fenugreek seeds.once they crackle, add the potatoes (drained).add turmeric powder and stir.

3.add salt and cook over a high flame stirring once or twice.avoid breaking the pieces .once the outer coat of the potatoes is firm and evenly coloured to light brown, dain excess oil, if any.

4.add the ground paste, cook over a low flame for 4-5 mins, stirring occasionlly. the paste does not have to be brown, only cooked .by this time the potatoes too will be reddish.serve hot.
