This is a South Indian Andhra recipe, famous in Rajahmundry.
- Take a mixie jar and add soaked moong dal, green chilies and blend into smooth paste, transfer into a bowl.
- To it add salt, cooking soda, lime juice and mix nicely, Transfer into an aluminum tray.
- Place in steamer and steam for 8 minutes. Transfer into chopping board and cut into pieces.
- Heat oil in a pan and add dry red chillies, mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, green chillies and saute it.
- Add ginger, curry leaves, slices of onions, salt, turmeric powder and saute it.
- To it add tamarind juice, little water, little sugar and boil it.
- To it add steamed moong dal pieces, coriander leaves and mix nicely, transfer into serving plate.
Now siriyali is ready to serve.
