Ingredients used in POTATO FRY WITH SOYA GRANULES
• Oil - 2 tablespoons.
• Mustard seeds - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Urad dal - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Curry leaves - 1 spring.
• Onions(chopped) - 1/2 cup.
• Ginger(chopped) - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Potatoes(chopped) - 1 cup.
• Turmeric powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
• Red chili powder - 1 tea spoon.
• Soya granules - 1/2 cup.
• Coriander powder - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Pepper powder - 1/4 tea spoon.
• Coriander leaves(chopped) - 1 tablespoon.
• Lime juice - 1 tea spoon.
• Salt - to taste.
Method:
  • Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves and saute it.
  • To it add chopped onions, ginger, chopped potatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, soya granules, coriander powder, salt and saute it, cook it for 2 minutes with lid on it.
  • Later remove lid and add pepper powder, coriander leaves,cook it until it is done.
  • Atlast add lime juice and toss it.

Now potato fry with soya granules are ready to serve.

POTATO FRY WITH SOYA GRANULES is an amazing spicy vegetable Potato Fry with Soya Granules is an amazing spicy vegetable high protein food that tastes good with curd rice or rasam rice or can be eaten by itself.  This is a very simple and quick to dish where kids would love to eat the crispy potato and the soya granules also adds excellent flavor with a feel like eating a Kheema dish. Potato is a common and popular food used in preparing a variety of dishes all over the world.

 

They are valued because they combine the characteristics of starchy foods with those of vegetables. A piping hot boiled potato homemade soup is one of the refreshing and comforting dishes that one will love to eat. Kids love eating fried potatoes especially junk foods like French fries and chips or crispy potato wedges. Fried potatoes are one of the most preferred dishes especially during parties, get-togethers or any special celebrations.

 

Potatoes blend and bind well with other vegetarian and non-vegetarian ingredients and its versatility is the highlight. Potatoes are a source of fibre, which contributes to the feeling of fullness, and supports healthy digestive functions. The main energy-providing nutrient in potatoes is carbohydrate, in the form of starch. Carbohydrates are the primary source of energy for the body and the advantage of getting carbohydrates from potatoes is that you will be getting a considerable amount of certain micronutrients as well.

 

Soya chunks or granules is another awesome ingredient and is said to be a high protein food. It is popularly eaten among vegetarians. It is commonly known as meal maker which is a textured or texturized vegetable protein which is also called as soy protein or soya meat. It is a nutritious meat extender made from defatted soy flour, a by-product of extracting soybean oil. Soya chunks cooks quickly hence it’s easy to prepare. Soya granules blend well with spices and tastes extremely delicious when cooked.

 

It is also said that soya chunks is a fantastic substitute to meat and tastes similar to meat. Amazingly the protein content of soya chunks is equal to that of meat and contains no fat. The soya chunks or meal maker is readily available in most of supermarkets and used widely in many recipes in prisons and schools as they are relatively low in cost, high protein and low fat content and has a long shelf life which allows institutions to buy in bulk.

 

Soya beans are an excellent source of high protein and fibrous food. After the extraction of soya milk, the soya chunks act as soya meal maker. 50% of the vegetable protein from the soya bean is a good fiber food enabling easy digestion and bowl movement. Do try this fantastic and alluring dish – Potato Fry with Soya Granules is slightly crispy, has a spicy, chatpata taste and is absolutely appetizing.

Recipe of Potato Fry with Soya Granules:

Ingredients:

 Oil                                               -        2 tbsp

Mustard seeds                         -        ½ tsp

Urad dal                                    -        ½ tsp

Curry leaves                              -        1-2 sprigs

Onions, chopped                    -        ½ cup

Ginger, chopped                     -        ½ tsp

Potato, chopped                      -        1 cup

Turmeric pd                              -        ¼ tsp

Red chilli pd                             -        ½ tsp

Soya granules                           -        ½ cup

Coriander pd                             -        ¼ tsp

Pepper pd                                   -        ¼ tsp

Coriander leaves, chopped    -        1 tbsp

Lime juice                                   -        1 tsp

Salt                                                -        to taste 

Directions:

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves and sauté.
  2. Add onions, ginger, potatoes, turmeric pd, red chilli pd, soya granules, coriander powder, salt and sauté well.        Cover the pan with a lid and cook for about 2 minutes.
  3. Later remove the lid, add little pepper pd, coriander leaves and mix.
  4. Add little lime juice and toss well.
  5. Serve potato fry with soya granules with curd rice or rasam rice etc.

Soya granules are awesome, healthy tiny pellets and an excellent natural source of soy proteins which makes it a great food for vegetarians. You could add soya granules in making variety of dishes which would make a great pack for an iron and protein boost. Soya granules is a very appetizing food which can be added in making a variety of rice dishes, curries, stews and soups etc. Soya granules are rich in vitamins, mineral and nutrients.
