Ingredients used in Palida (To be served with Ek Handi Ek Dal Chawal)
• Oil - 3 1/2 tablespoons.
• Tomato big - 1 piece.
• Green chillies - 2 piece.
• Red chilli powder - 1/2 tablespoons.
• Dhania powder - 1 tablespoons.
• Haldi powder - 1/4 tablespoons.
• Drumsticks cut into 3 pieces each - 2 piece.
• Small bottle gourd cut into small pieces(remove seeds) - 1 piece.
• Gram flour - 1 1/2 tablespoons.
• Amchur - 1 piece.
• Jeera - 1 tablespoons.
• Fenugreek seeds - 1/2 tablespoons.
• Onion - 1 piece.
• Coriander for granishing - .
Method:
Put Oil in a vessel and fry bottle gourd and drumsticks. Remove from oil and keep aside. In the same oil put Jeera, Fenugreek seed, Onion and fry till onion is transparent. Add Gram Flour and roast till mixture becomes golden brown. Add Haldi, Dhania and Chili Powder. Add Dal Water (Keep the Dal Water which you have from the Toor Daal boiled for making Ek Handi Ek Dal Chawal) Add Salt, Bottle Gourd, Drum Sticks, green chillies, amchur, tomatoes and let it cook until Bottle Gourd and Drumsticks become soft. Garnish with Coriander leaves and serve with Ek Handi Ek Dal Chawal. You can add variation in taste by adding Kokum instead of Amchur and also Onion is optional many do not use it in the dish.
