Ingredients used in Navy beans sambar
• Sambar powder - 1-1.5 teaspoons.
• Mustard - 1 teaspoons.
• Curry leaves - 5 leaf.
• Potato(medium sized)chopped - 1 numbers.
• Onion (large)chopped - 1 numbers.
• Tomato chopped - 1 numbers.
• Navy beans - 1.5 cup.
• Coriander leaves - .
• Salt - to taste.
Method:
Soak Navy beans for 1-2 hrs. Pressure cook navy beans with chopped onions,tomatoes and potato. Once its cooked, boil it with sambar powder and salt till you get the desired consistency adding more water if required. Season it with mustard seeds and curry leaves. Add chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with rice and papad. Note-Can also add a little bit of tamarind paste if you do not get desired tanginess from tomatoes in the sambar.Its optional.
